7 Things No One Tells You About Marriage

Friday, October 30th, 2009

This was a good article that I found from Redbook concerning some simple truths that will unlock the surprising treasures and pleasures in your imperfect, unstorybook, real-life love.

1. You will look at the person lying next to you and wonder, Is this it? Forever?
When you get married, you think that as long as you pick the right guy — your soul mate — you’ll be happy together until death do you part. Then you wake up one day and realize that no matter how great he is, he doesn’t make you happy every moment of every day. In fact, some days you might wonder why you were in such a hurry to get married in the first place. You think to yourself, “This is so not what I signed up for.”

Some tips for selecting a wedding photographer

Saturday, October 10th, 2009

I found this article on examiner.com:

Your wedding photographer can make or break you, figuratively and financially. It is so important to find one that you admire, and know will make your photos shine. It is also very important to stay within budget.

Make sure your photographer has wedding experience by reviewing their portfolios and websites; find what you like and what you don’t. If the photographer has the right price and you click well with them, express your likes and dislikes. Write a list of pictures that you want to make sure you have, and make sure the photographer knows and can do this. Make sure you interview several photographers, and research as many in your area as possible. Every photographer has a different style some you will like, some you wont, some you will love but cannot afford, but there is a middle ground, if you want to assure you find it you need to do the research. Make sure you see a website and a portfolio from the photographer before you hire him/her to reassure that you like their style.

Insurance for a wedding? Didn’t Think of That

I recently found the article below which might be interesting to brides, especially as the winter approaches. You could use it as a back up for sickness or maybe a weather condition, although I don’t know if the insurance would cover that.

The article was found on examiner.com. Enjoy:

Wedding insurance protects the savvy
Weddings have become complex business dealings often requiring a year or more to organize. Savvy brides, like savvy business people, often make a minor investment in an insurance policy to give themselves peace of mind should the unforeseen upset the wedding applecart. Weather, vendors, faulty equipment, illness or any number of occurrences outside the control of the bride and groom can disrupt even the most well planned wedding. The coupled pictured below left, contracted Swine Flu but proceeded with their June wedding anyway. Wedding insurance would have allowed them to postpone their nuptials until they were both well. Wedding insurance is surprisingly affordable. Based on the wedding budget, most policies can be purchased for between $100 and $600.
